About Crawl Cosplay Sudden Death Tournament (CCSDT)
The Crawl Cosplay Sudden Death Tournament is a competition that aims to fill a
Crawl niche not currently filled by the version release tournament or the other three Crawl Cosplays initiatives.
The idea is for players to compete by trying to do as well as possible in a
game of Crawl with one attempt only; if you die, that challenge is over (thus
"sudden death"). This competition is a lower time commitment event that aims to challenge
players while playing one of the 100 or so Crawl Unique characters.
Rules
- Each weekly challenge consists of playing a randomly chosen Crawl Unqiue's starting combo (e.g. Snorg, a TrBe).
The combos for each week of the competition have already been selected by our Crawl Cosplay @VIPs on our
Discord server.
All players have one week to finish a game using that combo. Only milestones recorded during the week (from
00:00 UTC on the start date until 00:00 UTC on the end date) will count for scoring.
- Your first 0.32 game started on an official server (except for LLD) during the week will count
for scoring. This is the only allowed attempt, subject to rule 3 below.
- One redo per week is allowed if your first game ended in death with player
XL < 5 (i.e., no redo once you reach XL 5). The redo game must be started after
the end of the first game (no startscumming!). The highest score of the
two games is counted towards your score.
- Each challenge includes a list of 3 gods. A bonus point can be earned upon
reaching ****** piety (or on worship with Gozag or Xom) with one of the listed
gods. The point is lost if you ever abandon your god or are excommunicated or worship another god first instead of the 3 choiced gods.
- The tournament consists of 5 challenges total (i.e., 5 different combos). Each
race and background is selected at most once during the competition.
- The final rankings will be tallied at the end of week 5 and represent the
final outcome. The player with the highest tournament score is the champion.
- Tiebreakers are (in order): number of weekly bonus points, highest in-game
score.
- Don't play on more than one account. That misses the point.
Scoring
Scoring is divided into two parts, weekly points assigned to each game
played, and one-time points awarded once per season regardless of how many
games achieve them.

It will not always be the case that earning a
Bonus 2 implies that you have earned a Bonus 1; these points can be
awarded separately. Unless specified, a bonus or one time point does not
require you to win to earn the point(s).
List of possible Bonuses
Bonus 1 list
- Enter a rune branch with all base skills < 11.
- Enter Slime as your second multi-level branch (don't get banished).
- Enter the Temple in less than 4,000 turns.
- Reach the end of Lair at XL ≤ 12.
- Reach the end of Elf before entering a rune branch (excluding getting banished to the Abyss).
- Reach the end of the Depths before entering a rune branch (excluding getting banished to the Abyss).
- Collect a rune before entering Shoals, Snake, Spider, or Swamp.
- Collect a rune before entering Lair.
- Collect a rune without dying (felids).
- Kill a unique in bat form (vampires).
Bonus 2 list
- Collect a rune with all base skills < 11.
- Get the slimy rune without entering any multi-level branch other than Lair, Slime, and Dungeon (don't get banished).
- Collect a rune in less than 15,000 turns.
- Reach the end of the Vaults at XL ≤ 18.
- Kill or slimify Geryon before entering a rune branch (excluding the Abyss).
- Get a rune from Hell or Pan before entering any other rune branch (excluding the Abyss).
- Get a rune from Hell before entering any other rune branch (excluding the Abyss).
- Collect at least 5 runes before entering the Depths.
- Collect two runes without dying twice (felids).
- Kill a Hell or Pan Lord unique in bat form (vampires).
List of new-version tournament banners to be programmed
- Tier 3: Enter Tomb for the first time after picking up the Orb of Zot, and then get the golden rune.
- Tier 3: Find the iron rune in Dis before entering Pandemonium or any branch of the dungeon containing any other rune.
- Tier 2: Reach the last level of the Depths without having entered the Lair.
- Tier 3: Win a game without having entered the Lair, the Orcish Mines, or the Vaults.
- Tier 2: Achieve a score of >9,000,000.
- Tier 2: Reach the last level of the Lair of Beasts without using any potions or scrolls.
- Tier 2: Win without raising any skill to 20.
- Tier 3: Win without raising any skill to 13.
- Tier 2: Win with 3 gems intact.
- Tier 3: Win with all 11 gems intact.
- Tier 2: Find a rune before reaching experience level 17.
- Tier 2: Enter the third floor of the Elven Halls in under 12,000 turns.
- Tier 3: Enter the final floor of Gehenna in under 27,000 turns.
- Tier 2: Reach the 10th floor of a Ziggurat.
- Tier 2: Kill at least one unique pan lord and at least one unique hell lord over the course of the tournament.
- Tier 3: Kill all four unique pan lords, all four unique hell lords, and the Serpent of Hell (at least once) over the course of the tournament.
List of CCC Bonuses to be programmed
- 1.1 Joseph: Win the game with at least $10000 in gold.
- 4.2 Bai Suzhen: Reach skill level 27 in invocations, before you reach XL27.
- 4.5 Frederick: Get at least one Hell rune, and one Pan rune other than the demonic rune.
- 5.4 The Moon Troll: Win the game without entering the Vaults.
- 9.3 Nergalle: Enter the Orcish Mines before reaching XL10.
- 10.1 Maurice: Get the Abyssal rune during the orb run.
- 10.2 Vashnia: Don't enter any of Swamp, Shoals, Snake Pit, or Spider Nest, until you have the Silver rune (the Vaults)
- 11.1 Cerebov: Kill Cerebov in Pandemonium.
- 15.1 Pikel: Win the game with at least 7 runes.
- 15.5 Tiamat: Reach XL7 on D:7.
- 16.1 Nessos: Kill the Serpent of Hell.
- 17.1 The Enchantress: Win before you reach XL25.
- 32.5 Xak: Get 3 gems other than the dungeon one. The gems do not need to stay intact.
